The Kestrel

A miniture sized bird of prey. This pulled in fish shape bridges the gap between our classic fish models and the more rockered out “Birds of Prey” series. A performance shape for softer to average surf.

Distinguishing Characteristics:
A fish shape of the contemporary style. Relaxed rocker and widths in the 20″ to 20.5″ range. An intermediate surfer of average proportions can enjoy this design with a length equal to or slightly shorter than their height. Most often done with from 3 to 5 fins.

Compare and Contrast:
Rocker similar to that of the Tern and Cormorant models but with a more pulled in template than either of these shapes. The flat rocker retains much of the planing speed of these classic fish designs but the narrower template helps the board go rail to rail. More planing speed than the Kite or Peregrine.
